I write about small household and kitchen gear that keeps showing up in ads — the kind that appears from nowhere with a brand name nobody’s heard of, promising something specific. Nobody pitches their way onto this site.
How things get checked
I don’t buy or personally test what I write about. What I do is find what real buyers have already said — Reddit threads, Facebook comment sections and owner groups, verified-purchase reviews on the retail page itself — and read through as much of it as exists before writing a verdict. That’s the same skill from six years in returns: knowing what a real complaint sounds like versus a generic one, and telling a planted or incentivized review from an honest one.
Every piece states how much real buyer discussion existed to draw from. When a product is too new for that — which happens, since some of what I cover has been advertised for two weeks — the piece says so, and the verdict is written as provisional rather than padded out to sound more certain than it is.
How products are acquired
I don’t acquire the products I write about. If that changes for a specific piece — a manufacturer sends something, or I buy one myself — the piece says so in the first paragraph, and that fact buys nothing but a review that may be unfavorable.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell me and I’ll fix it. Corrections to substantive errors are noted at the bottom of the article with the date and what changed. I don’t quietly edit and pretend it was always right.
